I use roses in my garden
bouquets whenever I can .. walking in from the garden with trug full of
booms is my idea of heaven, and whilst it has been raining for 5 days solid and
I am dying to get out into my garden I am having to do virtual gardening
in the warm .. researching a post on the UK’s top 10 most fragrant
roses.
I’ve been growing David Austin roses since I was young. Twenty years ago .. when getting drunk on
a Saturday night at uni was the norm, my way of recovering was to potter about
my student house garden on a Sunday morning. Of course I still potter
about my garden these days in the morning .. but minus the headache!
So I am delighted to offer
the chance to win three of these beautiful roses.

ReplyDeleteI would give it to my mum: I love gardening and almost everything I know about it, I learned from her as I grew up watching her digging and pruning. I'm pretty good now but she still laughs at some of my questions! We both get a lot of enjoyment from flowers and I know she would just these!

ReplyDeleteI would give them to my amazing Mother In Law - the original English rose. 95 years old, she has never had a bad word for anyone; she lives on her own and walks three miles into town because it is important to stay fit; she is Great-Granny to the whole street, taking in parcels, minding keys, giving tea to kids who are stuck outside their home 'cos Mum/Dad has been delayed; she goes visiting in hospitals because the 'poor old dears don't get much company'. Mum is a gem and she produced a wonderful son too!
ReplyDeleteI'd give my first bouquet of roses to my Dad. Dad is 85 and has dementia so he often can't remember who I am, or even what day it is or where he lives. The one memory he does seem to retain is his love of gardening. He's quite frail now so he can no longer cut the lawn or maintain his borders but he does still love to potter and talk about the flowers in his garden. He has always loved roses so I would let him cut his own roses from my garden and would display these near his chair so he can look at them every day :-) @piperanddaisy
